Hilton Pond 06/22/02 (Old Hummingbirds)

HI . . .

One of the fulfilling things about banding hummingbirds is that many
of them return in later years to the very site where they were
banded. That was the case this week with an "ancient" female
Ruby-throated hummingbird that showed up once again at Hilton Pond
Center for Piedmont Natural History.

Just check under under "This Week at Hilton Pond" for the week of
22-30 June 2002 at http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek020622.html and
you'll find a photo essay about this "Hummingbird Homebody."

As always there's a weekly account of all birds newly banded at
Hilton Pond during the week, as well as original banding dates for
other birds that were recaptured.

Please forward this message to folks you know who share our interest
in nature. :-)

Happy Nature Watching!
