2 Common Ground-Doves
3 singing Grasshopper Sparrows + 1-2 streaky young birds (breeding
Grasshopper Sparrows get scarce this far south in SC)
good numbers of Indigos & Blue Grosbeaks, heard single Painted Bunting

Bear Island, Colleton County: (highlights)

15+ Black Terns, one nice black adult
50+ Least Terns
6 Royal Terns
3 Clapper Rails
2 Wood Storks
3 Least Bitterns
5 Green Herons
8 Great Blue Herons
20+ Great Egrets
15+ Snowy Egrets
5 Tricolored Herons
6 Cattle Egrets
30+ White Ibis
5 Greater Yellowlegs
10+ Lesser Yellowlegs
1 Stilt Sandpiper in full alternate plumage
1 Short-billed Dowitcher
20+ Black-necked Stilts
Banks Swallows and Tree Swallows already gathering on the wires along with a
few martins
5+ Marsh Wrens
3 Seaside Sparrows, one streaky fledgling
4 male Painted Buntings
