We have a pair of bluebirds whose first set of eggs never hatched. One day
the eggs were gone and another nest built ... actually they had built a nest
on top of the unhatched eggs.
The second group did not hatch either. They tried again in a different box,
same result. They now have their fourth set of eggs back in the original box
(which we *had* emptied this time). They keep trying, but obviously there is
a fertility problem with at least one of the pair.
We've had better luck with two other pairs, though, so our yard and garden is
filled with bluebirds :)
