Caw Caw Park, SC birdwalks



The following are highlights of the morning bird walks at Charleston
County's Caw Caw Park in Ravenel, SC led by Perry Nugent every Wednesday and
Saturday at 8:30 am.

July 13, 2002.  50 species were seen and/or heard.  The most interesting
were; 1 Swallow-tailed Kite, 1 Yellow-billed Cuckoo, 1 Belted Kingfisher, 1
Hairy Woodpecker, 4 Pileated Woodpeckers, 1 northern Flicker, 12 Blue-gray
Gnatcatchers ( Nest has 2 tiny babies that both parents are feeding), 2
Loggerhead Shrikes, 1 Yellow-throated Vireo, 1 Red-eyed Vireo, 5 Northern
Parula Warblers ( family group ), 1 Yellow-throated Warbler, 3 Blue
Grosbeaks, 4 Indigo Buntings, and 4 Painted Buntings,
