I would like to add to Harry LeGrand's and James Coman's comments on the
issue change from complete CBC coverage to very abbreviated coverage.
Around the U. S. and the world, birders and biologists look at current and
past issues of the American Birds CBC issue for many reasons. Whether
planning a visit, doing a research project, or conducting private study, the
print copy has been invaluable.
Computers are not commonly found in many parts of the world. On the other
hand, libraries are. Through interlibrary loan, one can obtain needed print
journals almost anywhere in the world. Print is still the best, and most
permanent, format for worldwide distribution, in my opinion.
I hope that the American Birds CBC issue will continue to be available in
print format for the computer challenged of the world.
