WHITE-FACED IBIS
CURLEW SANDPIPER
Pelagic opportunities
The WHITE-FACED IBIS at Nags Head, NC was last reported July 20 but may still
be present. Birders on the Outer Banks should check the Old Oregon Inlet Rd.
south of Nags Head at MP 19-20. Look in the roadside ditches.
CURLEW SANDPIPERS have been reported from Pea Island NWR. Search through the
shorebirds at North Pond and South Pond. Remember to bird only from the road
when scanning South Pond.
There is room available on upcoming pelagic birding trips off the Outer
Banks. Trips will depart out of Hatteras on 8-10, 11,24, 25 and out of Manteo
on 8- 17, 18, 31, and 9-1. Contact Brian Patteson at 252- 986-1363 for
details.
Thanks this week to Faye Metzl for her report. Some of this information was
gleaned from Carolinabirds.
