I was at the gate at Raven Rock when it opened at 8:00 a.m.
today. I walked part of the main trail and the loop provided by the
Little Creek trail. I heard more than I saw, given the increasing
wind and cloud cover. Here are the warblers:
northern parula: many, seen and heard
yellow-throated warblers: several, seen and heard
black and white warblers: several, heard only
ovenbird: two, heard only
prairie warbler: female, probably first spring, seen clearly at close range
There were other interesting birds, but nothing unusual.
Blue-gray gnatcatchers were everywhere!
Bob
