MOMO this week



Greetings from Morrow Mountain State Park, Albemarle, Stanly County, North Carolina. I observed 28 bird species in 2.5 hours of volunteer birding from my solar canoe, along the park shoreline of Lake Tillery, Friday, 9 May 2003, 1640-1910 hours:

Double-crested Cormorant (30 near Falls Dam)
Great Blue Heron
Canada Goose
Mallard
Broad-winged Hawk
Turkey Vulture (30 circling E of Falls Dam)
Killdeer
Mourning Dove
Belted Kingfisher
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Acadian Flycatcher
Eastern Phoebe
Great Crested Flycatcher
Eastern Kingbird
Red-eyed Vireo
Blue Jay
Northern Rough-winged Swallow
Tufted Titmouse
White-breasted Nuthatch
Carolina Wren
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Eastern Bluebird
Wood Thrush
Yellow Warbler
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Summer Tanager
Red-winged Blackbird
Common Grackle
American Goldfinch
