We took a short trip to near Bristol Tenn. yesterday to see the male
Harlequin Duck and Eared Grebes. The birds are only an hour from Boone NC.
The Harlequin Duck is in a river which is not very wide, which allows for
very good and close looks. There were also many other ducks there including
Redhead, Buffleheads, Ruddy Ducks, A. Wigeon, and Ringnecks, all of which
are only 20-30 feet from shore. If any one wants directions let us know and
we will pass them along.
