I've been doing my birding away from my neighborhood for better than a
month, so I decided this morning to cover my "normal" haunts. I found wood
ducks on two different ponds and added two new species to my Methodist
College list: ring-necked ducks (ca. 50) and a pretty swamp sparrow that
was hanging out in a wet, weedy spot with a bunch of song sparrows.
Here at the house the goldfinches are trying to eat me into the poor
house and I still have yellow-rumps, pine warblers, and a yellow-bellied
sapsucker coming regularly to my suet cage.
