Comments from the GBBC folks on the RB Mergs:
-------
I've checked the database and those reports look good to me. The bulk
of
the 10,000 come from three reports from Kitty Hawk on three different
days...6000, 2500, 1000, and a 4th report with 4 birds. The reports are
well filled out with a good presentation of other Outer Banks species
of
interest and careful numbers. It sounds to me like a large migratory
flock
moving north over that weekend.
This is also a good example of why, even though we lump the figures in
the
results maps, we keep them separate in the database. In a case like
this,
they tell a story. One report of 6,000 wouldn't.
Thanks for your interest and participation. Let me know if you'd like
any
additional information.
