RE: American Widgeon

"Is it unusual to see only one Widgeon?"

Apparently not all that uncommon. I observed a solitary male AmWigeon on
the pond E of bldg. 4 on the Microsoft Charlotte, NC, campus (near
Charlotte's Douglas Intl. Airport) just yesterday afternoon. He was
accompanied by more usual suspects - about 100 Honkers and a half-dozen
Mallards. This *was* however, the first such sighting of a Wigeon at this
location in the more than six years that I have been observing at this site.
