Hi all,
I took a brief stroll through the swamp north of the Stagecoach Road
impoundment in SW. Durham County this morning. Highlights included a
couple of singing (albeit not particularly vigorously) YELLOW-THROATED
WARBLERS, a slew of quite vigorously singing N. PARULAS, a flyover from
a pair of WOODIES, my first BROWN-HEADED COWBIRDS of the year (:-( ),
and a calling BARRED OWL from further back in the swamp. Also had five
species of Woodpecker, which was pretty nice for a 45 minute walk (all
the likely culprits but Pileated).
Happy Birding,
-Sandy
