Upper Little Creek Impoundment

This morning at the Upper Little Creek waterfowl impoundment on highway 54, just before you reach Chapel Hill, I saw 3 blue winged teals, 1 male and 2 females. Also seen were geese, wood ducks, common yellow throats, gold finches, chickadees, 3 red headed woodpeckers, 2 belted kingfishers, an eastern kingbird, a phoebe, blue birds, green back and great blue herons, yellow rumped warblers, bank and tree swallows, northern flicker, red winged black bird, and grackles.

Yesterday afternoon I returned to NC Botanical Gardens and was again able to find the hooded and black throated blue warblers and I also saw both a male and female scarlet tananger.
