Kites and Ibis

On Sunday AM 7/9, Sue and I birded Magnolia Plantation with Perry
Nugent. A couple of notable sighitings:

Two adult Missisippi Kites feeding an active juvenile on the nest. The
kite nest is located about 100 yards east of the main parking area.

A juvenile Glossy Ibis in the wading bird rookery of the Audubon Swamp
Garden. This bird is a very recent fledge based on its unsteady
movements in the scrubby growth in the swamp.

Magnolia Plantation is located approximately 10 miles west of
Charleston, SC on SC Highway 61 (Ashley River Road.
