The spoonbill has been appearing since about Memorial Day on a fairly
regular basis. It was seen today, July 18, at 9:30-10:00 a.m. in
Newfield Pond from the two-story tower at the west end of the North
Pond trail. In all the recent sightings, July 16, July 13, July 11,
July 8, it has been near this area along with White Ibis, egrets and
Little Blue and Tri-colored Herons. Colorwise it resembles the
immature picture in National Geographic.
