On a quick walk through Beaver Lake Bird Sanctuary around noon today, I
observed Pied-billed Grebe (season's first), Osprey, Great Egret,
Black-and-white Warbler, and (first fall female) Hooded Warbler, along with
the regulars. Those included two punk-looking immature Green Herons
sunning themselves opposite the older overlook.
Hope all these birds will stick around for Saturday's Audubon bird walk,
which starts at the earlier-than-usual time of 8 a.m.
That starting time applies for the September 2 walk as well.
