Hummingbird Mornings #2

This weekend (Friday and Saturday, 11-12 August), "The Original
Hummingbird Mornings" moves to Stacy's Greenhouses & Garden Center in
York, SC, for the second is this year's series of public hummingbird
banding programs.

Bill Hilton Jr. of Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History
will be making presentations each day at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.; there
is no admission charge. Friday is a special "Seniors Day" at which
senior citizens are especially welcome.

One of the "bonuses" at Stacy's is that they've ordered a couple of
truckloads of hummingbird (and butterfly?) plants that will be for
sale after each presentation.

To get to Stacy's Greenhouses (2009 N. Highway 321) from Charlotte,
take I-85 south to Gastonia and exit onto U.S. 321 south into South
Carolina; go through Clover and watch for the Stacy's sign on the
right as you approach York. From downtown York, take U.S. 321 north
for about four miles; Stacy's will be on the left. For more
information about the event, contact Linda Koon at Stacy's at
684-2331.

Hope to see you there! :-)

Best wishes,

BILL

P.S. I'll be at RibbonWalk (Charlotte) the third weekend in August.
Details to follow.
