On Saturday (16 Sep 2000) Caroline Eastman, Heidi Hoerman, Steve Dennis and
I checked out Marys House Pond at Bear Island WMA in Colleton County, SC as
part of the NAMC. There were only a few dozen shorebirds present -- mostly
yellowlegs and a few peep, way down from the 3000 plus present a week
before. We found no godwits of any kind. The most unusual shorebird at
Bear Island was probably a Semipalmated Plover.
