Jeff Catlin reported that there were very few hawks at Caesar's Head today.
Interestingly, while I was feeding my dog Faulkner about 8:45 this morning,
20 Broad-winged Hawks flew over my yard. I live in Pickens, which is about
30 driving minutes south of Caesar's Head. The birds were all gliding west,
no more than about 300 feet above the ground.
Last year on September 22 this same phenomenon occured, with 17 birds flying
over.
