Cbirders,
The Sandhills Area Land Trust, the Cumberland County Conservancy and the
North Carolina Coastal Land Trust are teaming up to host two free
conservation easement seminars this Wednesday, October 4th in Fayetteville,
NC.
The land trusts will hold two seminars (they are duplicates; you need not
attend both). The first is Wednesday afternoon from 2-4:30. The second is
Wednesday evening from 7-9:30. Both will be held in the Kiwanis Recreation
Center at Honeycutt Park on Ft. Bragg Road.
A conservation easement is a tool for land preservation and legitimate tax
avoidance for property owners willing to give up some property rights in
perpetuity. (Not all properties qualify.) Birds and birders often benefit
from these deals.
Birder/lawyers take note: this seminar was recently approved by the NC State
Bar as a CLE course worth two (2) general credit hours.
All are welcome. Remember, this is free and it is the day after tomorrow.
E-mail me if you need directions.
