This evening I received a call from Steve and Trish Summers, two birders from
Utah. I birded with them in Charleston on Monday and found them to be very
good birders. Steve said they had toured the Laural Hill Wildlife Drive,
Savannah River NWR late this afternoon and had an adult Yellow-headed
Blackbird with a flock of Brown-headed Cowbirds at mile marker 2; and a winter
plumage WHITE-FACED IBIS with a flock of 50+ Glossy Ibis at about mile 3 1/2.
The bird was larger than the glossies with a Red-eye. Donna and I hope to
look for the bird on Friday.
Cheers,
Dennis
