Hi everyone,
I just pulled down the driveway past the feeders and saw a gorgeous,
bright, adult male Baltimore Oriole on my small roofed feeder shelf.
First saw him, I'm presuming it's the same individual, on Nov. 24 on the
same feeder, but haven't seen him again till today. Last winter I had an
immature male stay all winter, I'm thinking it's likely to be the same bird.
Have had a male Purple Finch in the last few days, but the Pine Siskins
and Golfinches haven't been around like they had been last month.
A Red-breasted Nuthatch is also present regularly, 1st showed up on Nov.
17th.
Chaperoned my daughter's 3rd grade class to the NC Museum of Nat.
Sciences in Raleigh today, and we had a nice time in the Naturalist Center on
the 4th level, hope to go back when have more time. Lots of bird skins to
look at. They have a C. Loon, Karen Bearden, and the dense feathers on it's
neck feel more like fur!
