Falls Lake Stuff

Hi folks,
I birded Falls Lake this morning (Sunday, Dec 9) and found a pretty good
variety of water birds. Here's what I found:
Common Loon - 1
Horned Grebe - 20
Double-cr. Cormorant - 65
Tundra Swan - 3 (were high overhead heading east)
Mallard - 20
Black Duck - 14
Gadwall - 12
Northern Shoveler - 3
Green-winged Teal - 8
American Wigeon - 18
Ring-necked Duck - 48
Lesser Scaup - 175
Greater Scaup - 3
Canvasback -1
Redhead - 21
Common Goldeneye - 1
Bufflehead - 12
Hooded Merganser - 35
Red-breasted Merganser - 5
Bonaparte's Gull - 75
Ring-billed Gull - 200+
Herring Gull - 42
Lesser Black-backed Gull - 1 (1st winter)
Great Black-backed Gull - 1 (2nd winter)
The black-backed gulls were seen from the Olive Grove peninsula which is just
downstream from Cheek Rd.
