Mark your calendars for the following Wake Audubon Society events in
November.

Monthly Program

Tuesday, November 12, "Seabirds and Oil in the Gulf of Alaska - Tales
from the Barrier Islands." Hear NC State ornithologist Ted Simons
describe his work and living experiences in Alaska. The meeting will be
held at 7:30 p.m. in the A-level conference room of the North Carolina
Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Raleigh, 571-0388.

Field Trips

Bagels and Birding on the Buckeye, Saturday, November 2, 8:30 a.m. Meet
at the Greenway parking area on Crabtree Boulevard, between Capital
Boulevard and Raleigh Boulevard, 832-4128.

Anderson Point Parks & Recreation Class, Saturday, November 9,
9:00-10:30 a.m. Instructor Aimee Weldon will explain how to locate and
identify birds in the local area. Program appropriate for ages 6 to
adult, 571-0388.

Anderson Point Avian Adventures, Saturday, November 16, 8:30 a.m. Meet
in the parking lot at Anderson Point Park. Take Highway 64 E from the
Beltline two miles. Turn right on Rogers Lane; the parking lot is at the
end of the street, 881-2601.

The Art of John J. Audubon, Saturday, November 23, 9:00 a.m. Join Joseph
Covington for a gallery walk at the NC Museum of Art to see selections
from "The
Birds of America." Limited to 20 participants, 303-2900. (By the way,
the exhibit is open until December 1, 2002).
