We can always tell that winter is upon us when the first massive
flock of Common Grackles arrives at Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont
Natural History.
For an essay about and some interesting close-up photos of this
bird--which is often held in low esteem by bird enthusiasts--just
click on http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek021115.html for the 15-21
November 2002 installment of "This Week at Hilton Pond."
As always, there are lists of the week's banded species and
recaptured birds and a photo of a wonderful group of homeschooled
kids that visited the center this week.
Please forward this message to others who are interested in nature
and birds. They can get a free weekly reminder for "This Week at
Hilton Pond" by sending a blank e-mail to mailto:info@hiltonpond.org
with SUBSCRIBE in the subject line.
Happy Nature Watching,
BILL
