The Audubon Society of Forsyth County would like to invite Carolinabirders
to their November Chapter Meeting tonight, November 26th. Refreshments and
socializing at 7 pm and Program preceded by a brief meeting at 7:30 pm.
November's Speaker: Doug DeNeve, "Alaska from a Birder's Perspective"
South-central Alaska, around Anchorage, is an area of unbelievable scenic
beauty, with snow-covered mountains rising from the edge of the sea and
abundant wildlife. The Seward peninsula, where Nome is located, is a vast,
treeless, wind swept area that is inhospitable to humans. It is also rich in
wildlife and a "must visit" location for birders worldwide.
Doug and Pam DeNeve visited these very different areas last summer. At this
month's meeting, Doug will share observations and photographs of "Alaska
from a Birder's Perspective." Join us for what should be an informative and
entertaining program.
