Hilton Pond 12/07/02 (Ice Storm)

Like most locales in the Carolinas, Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History was affected by the freakish late-autumn ice storm of early December 2002.

For photos of our damage and an essay about why some trees were so hard-hit, check out the 1-7 December 2002 installment of "This Week at Hilton Pond" by clicking on http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek021207.html .

As always, there's a list of the week's banded birds, albeit few.

Please forward this message to others who are interested in nature and birds. They can get a free weekly reminder for "This Week at Hilton Pond" by sending a blank e-mail to mailto:info@hiltonpond.org with SUBSCRIBE in the subject line.

Happy Nature Watching,
