Ernest,
Are you positive it was a Great Crested Flycatcher, rather than some other
species of Myarchus? At this season an Ash-throated Flycatcher would be
much more likely in northeastern South Carolina than a Great Crested. Also
do not overlook the chance of Brown-crested Flycatcher, or something else.
It's very tough to ID a Myarchus, especially if it is silent.
