As of 1:20 PM Saturday, the Greater White-fronted Geese were still present on
the first of Mr. Dobbins' ponds at Townville. I observed all 13 of them.
Their orange legs were very conspicuous, shining in the sun.
A note, in case you look for them: There is a place on the near side of the
pond where ducks and geese can hide. When they move to that location, they
cannot be seen from any place along the road. They do spend some time there,
but usually they seem to prefer the far side of the pond which provides
excellent scope views.
Other birds on the pond today:
Canada Goose
Mallard
Green-winged Teal
Gadwall
Northern Shoveler
Northern Pintail
American Wigeon
Bufflehead
