Caw Caw birdwalk



The following are highlights of the 3 hour Saturday birdwalk at Charleston
County's Caw Caw Park on US 17 south in Ravenel, SC led by Perry Nugent at
8:30 am.  A small fee is charged.  For more information type www.ccprc.com

March 15, 2003

51 species were seen and/or heard on a cold, windy turning rainy day.  The
most interesting were; 40 Snow Geese flying north, 2 Canada Geese, 35
Green-winged Teal, 2 Mallards, 6 Blue-winged Teal, 2 Ospreys on nest, 2
adult and 1 baby Bald Eagles, 10 Greater Yellowlegs, 1 Common Snipe, 1 adult
Great Horned Owl and baby on nest, 1 Barred Owl, 2 Pileated Woodpeckers, 1
Barn Swallow, 3 Hermit Thrushes, 2 Blue-headed Vireos, 3 Northern Parula
Warblers, 6 Yellow-throated Warblers, and 3 Pine Warblers.
