Thanks to Jack Peachey for putting me in contact with a Canadian biologist
who directs Piping Plover research, I've learned that my double-banded
plover at Wrightsville Beach would have been a migrant banded in maritime
Canada. She mentioned that Wrightsville seems to be a popular destination
for their Pipings. Vacationing with the Razorbills, I suppose.
