To Jim and C'birders,
As far as what I would do I would buy the best equipment for under
$2,000 and I'd put the rest toward a trip someplace that would add tons
of birds for my most cherished list.  The trip half of the $4,000 are
sure to add more birds than any scope you could buy and I don't know
that I could see much of a difference between a $2,000 investment in
optics and a $4,000 investment.
