while watching Mrs. Barred Owl dine on some mouse sushi this morning (UNC
campus)
a BALTIMORE ORIOLE flew into a white(?)oak by Alumni Hall (Shantanu Phukan's
bldg.) and
sang for me.
then, nearer to home found a pair of HOUSE WRENS nesting in a bluebird box
put up
along BolinCreek Greenway, near Bolinwood Dr. LOTS of other stuff calling
as well.
the in-town wooded patches I frequent all seem to be ESPECIALLY birdy
this spring; I think
the dreaded ice storms we had this winter really improved habitat!!
