5 Black Terns were seen this afternoon around 3PM at Rachael Carson Reserve
near Beaufort NC. The birds were seen on Bird Shoal, approximately 1/4 mile
South of where Deep Creek and Taylor's Creek meet. Two of the birds were
pretty far
along molting into nonbreeding plumage. The other 3 had started molting, but
weren't that far
into the molt.
Other birds of note were 6 Red Knots and 3 Marbled Godwits.
