With the arrival of August as "International Hummingbird Month," the
current installment of "This Week at Hilton Pond" focuses on some
things we know--and don't know--about Ruby-throated Hummingbirds.
To view the hummingbird photo essay for the long "week" of 22-31 July
2003, please visit the Web site for Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont
Natural History at http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek030722.html
There's our usual tally of birds banded during the period, as well as
a list of interesting recaptures--including some hummingbirds. This
week there are also mug shots of two lepidopterans, one diurnal and
one nocturnal.
Happy Nature Watching!
