At the Parkwood Lake in southern Durham, NC this morning 8/22/03, I noted:
Spotted Sandpiper (1)
Great Egret (2)
I've also been seeing a Belted Kingfisher for a few days. They are sometimes
resident (?) throughout the summer in the area, but I have just noticed one,
so perhaps it is a migrant as well.
My local Eastern Wood Pewee, a steady singer in the a.m. throughout the
summer, is silent or gone.
