Ridge Junction 9-7-03



About 15 folks met up at Ridge Junction OL (milepost 355.5 BRP) this morning
and they were not disappointed.  There were hundreds of birds moving
through.  About 75% of the birds were Tennessee Warblers.  We had good looks
at many of the birds.  Here is the list:

Sharp-shinned Hawk
Chimney Swift
Ruby-throated Hummingbird
Hairy Woodpecker
Pileated Woodpecker
Blue-headed Vireo
American Crow
Common Raven
Red-breasted Nuthatch
Winter Wren
Golden-crowned Kinglet
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Swainson's Thrush
Wood Thrush
Gray Catbird
Cedar Waxwing
Tennessee Warbler
Chestnut-sided Warbler
Cape May Warbler-- Good looks at many different ages
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Black-throated Green Warbler
Blackburnian Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
American Redstart
Scarlet Tanager
Eastern Towhee
Dark-eyed Junco
Rose-breasted Grosbeak-- One female/immature had a mostly white head
Red Crossbill-- Several sat in the trees and posed for us!
