Hey carolinabirders,
I have a confession to make. The golden-winged warbler that I reported Thrusday may not have been an accurate ID (it wasn't).
On a lighter note, I had a mourning warbler in duke forest on the fall bird survey. Gene Kingsley can be my witness. Not a great view, but no question on the ID. (gray head including the chin, yellow wash underneath, no visible eye ring or line, no wing bars). It came with a nice flock that included several black-throated blues, a chestnut-sided, a couple of black and whites, an ovenbird and a worm-eating. I also had a rose-breasted grosbeak.
