October 2nd New Hope Audubon meeting--wildlife artist

New Hope Audubon Society invites all interested to our October membership
meeting this coming Thursday, October 2. It will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the
Totten Center, North Carolina Botanical Gardens. The Totten Center is off of
Old Mason Farm Road, on the southeast side of Chapel Hill, NC. See
http://www.ncbg.unc.edu/info.htm#Directions for directions.

Our speaker for the October 2 meeting is Raleigh wildlife artist Patricia
Savage. Her work has included including birds, butterflies, and flowers. She
will show examples of her work and speak on her 2001 trip to coastal Alaska
as part of "The Harriman Expedition Retraced". That 2001 journey followed
the path of the famous expedition of 1899, whose members included author
John Muir and artist Louis Agassiz Fuertes. As one of the expedition
artists, Savage's work will be used in a book about the trip. For more
information on the Harriman project, see www.pbs.org/harriman/. To see some
