Today while doing the Big Sit at Ft Fisher we managed to find two relative
rarities: the first was an Avocet on the Rocks in with a flock of Willets
and Godwits and the second was a lark Sparrow in the short grass below
Battery Buchanan. I have never seen an Avocet at Ft Fisher before and the
Lark Sparrow was a state bird for me. I will send you all the final tally
for the Big Sit in a a day or two.
