Jordan Lake NC WOS re-opening Oct 19



The Indian Creek (Jordan Lake, Chatham County, NC) Wildlife Observation
Site has been closed some time for renovations. Thanks to the extensive
efforts of the US Army Corps of Engineers, the North Carolina Wildlife
Resources Commission, and volunteers from New Hope Audubon Society and
elsewhere, the site is ready to open again!
Special thanks are due to certain individuals who were key in re-opening
the site. Among these are: Michael Hosey, US Army Corps of Engineers; Libby
Wilcox,  NC Dept. Environment and Natural Resources; Judy Murray, New Hope
Audubon Society

Below are the details on the reopening kick-off.

Come to the re-opening of the  Indian Creek Wildlife Observation Site (WOS)
At Jordan Lake Sunday, October 19, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.

*Get up close and personal with real live birds of prey from the Carolina
Raptor Center!

*Take a nature hike and learn about the ecology of the area from Park Rangers.

*See if you can spot a Bald Eagle or an Osprey at the Observation Platform

Directions: The Jordan Lake Indian Creek WOS is in Chatham County six miles
south of I-40 on NC Highway 751 (exit 274) or 6.5 miles north of US 64.
Look for a brown sign across from the convenience store.
