Hilton Pond 10/22/03 (Fall Butterflies)

If "confusing fall warblers" are hard to identify for novice birders, imagine how inexperienced butterfly enthusiasts like us must feel about the Skippers.

Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History finally delves into the world of butterfly photography as we try to identify some of our autumn butterflies. To view the current installment of "This Week at Hilton Pond" for 22-31 October 2003, please click on http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek031022.html

As always there are lists of all birds banded or recaptured, plus close-ups of two birds of opposite seasons--Winter Wren and Yellow-billed Cuckoo. There are also links to our detailed accounts of two Rufous Hummingbirds banded during the period, one in Rock Hill SC and the other in Todd NC.

Happy Nature Watching!
