Franklin's gull, Lincoln's sparrow - Mt. Pleasant, SC

A Franklin's gull is present in a mixed flock of gulls at the old Pitt.
St. Bridge in Mt. Pleasant. David Abbott and Nathan Dias found the bird
on the incoming tide on the shell/sandbar south of the causeway and
looking into the harbor. Definite eye ring, shorter legs, shorter bill,
brown tertials, probably a first year winter bird.

At least one Lincoln's sparrow is still present at Patriot's Point in
Mt. Pleasant. The bird is being seen with song, savannah, and swamp
sparrows in an old field across from the pumphouse and near the
harbor/marsh side. When you walk the road through the trees to the
field, the sparrows have been active directly in front and to the left
of where the road comes in.

Both birds were observed Sat. am. Nov. 1.
