Depends where you're speeding. On my monthly trip down I-45 from Dallas to 
Houston and back (260 miles each way), about every third trip I'll see one or 
two State Police patrolling. Slow down around the major towns (about every 
40-50 miles) and you'll  be ok. The local police seem to be more prevelant. 
I've talk to some State Police that have said they stop ya' for 5 MPH over the 
limit, others that say they won't touch you until you're over 10MPH.

Taking the trip to I-35 to San Antonio (a little longer drive), I always see 
more State Police and local enforcement and they seem to vigorously enforce 
the speed limit.

Here in Dallas, Dallas police are just too busy with more important 
violations, like murder and stuff. But, the cities surrounding Dallas, enforce 
traffic more vigorously.
