travel, at a tangent

One Night in Bangkok

Well, folks, I finally made it, after a week's rushing around London. I would recommend Thai Airlines wholeheartedly - great legroom in economy, superb food, telepathically attentive staff. Yes - I mean it; waking up at around 3am with a dry throat and eyes full of sleep, no sooner had I thought of a glass of water than an impossibly beautiful young girl glided over, carrying one. This is why, dear friends, Thailand is a magnet for all those ugly ol' f***ers who can't get anyone to marry or mate with them in the UK, US, or OZ. These people are just FAR TOO NICE.
Good fortune and a later than previous-day check-in had seated me next to a charming and fascinating woman called Pam, en-route to Oz to see her grandchildren. We talked about the world, its delights and its disappointments for hours, and I must say that LHR-BKK on Thai Airlines is a particularly good route for charming and friendly people.
