The Express-News newsroom features a news research team integrated among the news department. The newsroom's Intranet and text archives will be demonstrated and if all goes well, the new CCIMediaStore digital assets management system will also be online. The newspaper office is at the corner of Ave. E and Third St., two blocks from the Alamo. Tour groups will meet in the lobby of the Express-News.

News Research: Critical Evaluation of Specific Industry Resources

News researchers are generalists who need to be experts in all areas, most often in deadline situations. This session provides news researchers with the best sources to use for efficient research on specific topics from the experts in their respective fields. Speakers from other SLA divisions will give their perspectives on the best tools of their trade. The topics to be covered: legal, business/finance, telecommunications, transportation, military, and pharmaceutical/health technology.
