Dear Srevaishnavites,
It is well known that ones kulam comes up from ones
birth. However, thiru-mazhisaip pirAn deems himself to be of a lower birth
different from the one, in which he was actually born.
"kulangaLAya EriraNdil onRilum piRandhilEan, nalangaLAya
narkalaigaL nAlilum navinRilEan.." thirucchandhavirutham
I am not born one of the 4 varNA-s - Hence, being
ineligible I have not studied the 4 vEdhAs.
It is well known that he was actually born in a
higher varNA. However, he deems himself the brought up clan.
Hence, this deemed birth.
Now, a question is raised? Can anybody deem
himself to be in a brought up 'kulam' than that of the 'born' kulam.Yes, Lord
krishNA deems himself to be "nandhagOpan -kumaran
" thiruppAvai 1. Thus the Lord Himself considers Himself as one of
the clan in which He is brought up. Hence, for both of them this becomes Deemed
kulam.
Is is possible that one's clan can change after
birth? is a question often asked. Be a good or bad varNA of brith, if one gets
the nexus with srevaishnavism- through thirumandhiram or otherwise-they beget a
good srevaishNavic clan and get themselves in an elevated pedestal.
That is what thriumangai mannan states that in the
pAsuram"kulam tharum" periya thiru-mozhi
1-9;
Is there a precedence? sri vibhEshanAzhwAn,
sri mAranERi nambi, sri vidhurar are some of such
examples.
Deemed kulam indeed
