Sri Srimathe nigamAntha mahAdesikAya namaha Dear Smt.Kalaivani, In addition to Sri.Sadagopan mama's reply, one can look at it from this point of view as well. Mohini was not a purnAvataram of the Lord unlike Ramar, Krishnar and Narasimhar. Mohini-avatAram was an avatAram where the Lord empowers a jiivatmA named Mohini to accomplish certain tasks. One was to make sure that the AsurAs did not get Amrutham after Samudra Manthanam. The allegoric significance is that even great devotees like Parameshwaran can lose control of indriyams. Since Parameshwaran is treated as a baddha jIvatma, he is bound by the rules of samsAra where the focus of the indriyams lie. Even Narada falls prey to this. The story where Narada is wedded and has a family life is the result of maya of the lord. Naradar is one of the famous 14 Brahmacharis. Even Rishi Vishwamitrar gets into samsAra with an apsara. Coming to Ayyappan, the latter is not worshipped as Narayana by Sri Vaishnavas since he is not a purnAvataram. After finishing the task of Bhamasura, the lord divests his powers from Mohini, whereby she becomes a plain jIvatma. Since she had the sambandham with sriman naarayanar, Ayyappan is revered as harihara putram. As with other devatAs, Ayyappan is to be considered as a baddha jIvatma and a great devotee of perumAl. Hope this answers your queries. Regards, Malolan Cadambi
