Srimathe Ramanujaya namaha

Sri Vara Vara munaye Namaha

Nathamunigal Vaibhavam

Many decades passed by, after the alwars ascending to the divine abode of emperumAn. In the southern part of India, in a place called Veeranarayanapuram, there lived a pious man, Eshwarabhattazhwar with his son  Nadhamunigal and grandson Eshwaramunigal (Nathamunigal?s son). This small family involved themselves totally in doing kainkaryam to the lord Mannanar of Veeranarayanapuram. One fine day, this divine trio expressed an earnest wish in front of the lord Mannar as, "Oh lord! You said in the Bhagavat Gita pavithrAnAya sAdhOnAm vinAshAyata dhushkritAm, dharmasam stApanArthAya sambhavAmi yugE yugE. You not only stopped in just uttering these words, but proved them in practice by taking various avatArs for eradicating adharmA and to re-establish dharmA. Hence we wish to have your divya darshanam in various divyadesams in the north namely Sri Mathura, Thiruvaippadi, Sri Brindavanam on the banks of Yamuna, Sri Govardana Giri, Srimath Dwaraka, Thiruvayodhya, Sri SalagrAmam, Sri BadrikAshramam, Sri NaimisAranyam and Sri Narasimhagiri". On hearing the sincere wish of his devotees, the lord immediately gave them permission to do so as per their wish through the archaka?s words.

The three along with their families started on a pilgrimage to the various Divyadesams in the north. They visited places like, Mathura, Salagramam, Vaikundam, DvArakai, Ayodhi and Vadhari and had the divine darshan of the emperumans. As per the verses of Vishnu purana "yAmunAj jadhigambhEram nAnA Varttacha ShAkulam", the river Yamuna is flowing with great vigor, making number of circles (Suzhigal) on its way. At the banks of this great river, lies the village Sri Govardanapuram. The emperuman here is called ?Thooya peruneer yamunai thuraivar?. They enjoyed the sevai of this emperuman so much that, here after they decided to live under his divine feet and do all sorts of kanikaryams to him. But Mannanar came in the dream of Nadhamunigal and ordered them to return back to his service. Astonished and confused by the dream, and hence unable to take a firm decision, they surrendered to the lotus feet of Yamunai thuraivar and requested him to guide them. Emperuman told them to do as per the instructions of Mannanar in the dream and sent them off, after giving his theertha prasAdam.

Again, the three with their families continued their journey through Varanasi to a kshetram called Purushotamam. "saptha saptha shu lOkeshu lOkA lOkE charA charE ? nAsti nAsti samam kshetram uttamam purushOttamam" meaning even if we search all the seven lokas, we can never find a place as equal to that of Purushotthamam. There they had the darshan of emperuman who is called as Jagannatha perumal. Then they went to a kshetram called SimhAdri and had the darshan of the emperuman called SimhAdrinaathan. From there they proceeded on to a divyadesam called Ahobilam. The emperuman there is Narashimhan who is rightly explained by the verse "ahO vErya mahA sowryam ahO BhAhu parAkramaha: - narashimha: parandaivam ahObala ahObilam" meaning Narashimhan has the qualities such as vErya, sowrya, bala and parAkrama. After receiving the blessings of Narasimhan, they went to the divine "paran sendru sEr thiruvEngada mAmalai" kshetram Thirupati. There they went up the Thirumalai hill and had the darshan of Thirumalai nAdhan. "mAyAvE paramAnandhan DyakthvA vaikunda muththamam - swami pushkarani thErE ramayA saha mOdhathe" Emperuman Srivaikundanathan who is a great dramatist, left his Paramapadam and descended to this world( leela vibudhi) aspiring to save the jeevathmaas, he settled in the banks of the river Thirukoneri along with Sridevi Naachiyar in a form which is easily accesible by all.

Sri Nadhamunigal and others prostrated to the lotus feet of Thirumalaiappan and thoroughly enjoyed the divya sevai of the lord. Here also they wished to prolong their stay, but since it would be against the wishes of Mannanar, they quickly changed minds and left to a place called Kadigaachalam. Here they had the sevai of Akkarakani emperuman Azhagiaya singar on top of the hill Kadigai malai. Then they went to Thiruputkuzhi where they had the darshan of Thiruputkuzhi yemporettru Nayanaar (Thiruputkuzhi vijayaraghavan) and Periya vudayaar (Jadaayu) and continued to the great Divya desam Kanchipuram. "nagareenAncha sarvA sAmpuri kAnchi vishishyathe ? Girinanchabhi sarvEsham srEshtO hastigiri smritaha: vegavath utthare dheere punya kotyAm harisswayam varadhas sarva bhOthAnAm Athya pibari drishyathe". On the northern banks of the Vegavathi, in the sacred Kanchi city, on the top of the hill Hastigiri (Supreme among the giris (mountains)), in-between the Punniya koti vimanams, they had the darshan of Emperuman Sri PErarulaalan. This Emperuman is know to be one, who gives darshan to all bhakthas at all times and grants whatever boon they ask for and hence he is called Sarvapalapradhan.
